In addition to making millions, Sherrill has come under fire for failing to properly disclose her stock trades, resulting in her paying a fine for violations of the STOCK Act.

She also sold shares of Alphabet and Meta in 2019 while she was the chairwoman of the oversight subcommittee of the Science, Space and Technology Committee

Sherrill says her stock trades do not benefit from inside information, but the New York Times reported there were at least 12 potential conflicts of interest in trades she made and the committees she served on as of 2022.

Ms. Sherrill reported both buying and selling shares of several defense contractors while she was a member of the House Armed Services Committee
